The Academic Module is held annually over a one-week period at the University of South Australia (UniSA) City East Campus.

The syllabus is delivered through a combination of face-to-face presentations and workshops, and has been developed to meet the ASMIRT educational requirements of an academic (theory) component of the ASMIRT Certificate of Mammographic Practice. An example of the program is available below.

Assessment

Assessment for the Academic Module is comprised of:

  • assignment (2000 words) 50%
  • case study 50%

A 50% attainment level is required to pass the module.

Cost

The fee for the Academic Module is $1,200 (GST inclusive). Modules are offered at no charge to radiographers employed by BreastScreen SA.

The next Academic Module will take place from 22-26 July 2024.

Please note limited places are available for non-BreastScreen Australia participants.

Students enrolled in the UniSA Graduate Certificate of Breast Imaging (Breast Ultrasound) should refer to Courses - Mammography - Study at UniSA.

Enrolment is not confirmed until you receive written advice that you have a place in the Academic Module.
