Please call 13 20 50 if:

  • you are unwell
  • you are awaiting the result of a COVID test
  • you have been to a COVID hotspot at the times specified or an at risk Local Government Area (LGA) in the past 14 days
  • you have been directed to isolate by SA Health's Contact Tracing Team
  • you are a contact of a confirmed case of COVID-19
  • you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

On the day of your appointment:

  • arrive at the clinic 10 minutes early ONLY - if you come earlier, you may be asked to leave and return closer to your appointment time.
  • come alone. We are minimising the number of people in our waiting areas. If you have a carer for the purposes of your health, they are welcome to attend with you.
  • a single-use surgical mask will be provided for you to wear. The mask must cover your mouth and your nose, and be fitted correctly. Cloth masks are not acceptable for a health care setting.
  • if you have a medical exemption for not wearing a mask, please bring evidence with you to be sighted at the clinic. Refusal to wear a mask without evidence may result in your breast screen appointment being rescheduled.
  • use hand sanitiser when you arrive and leave the clinic.
  • maintain 1.5 metres from others wherever possible.
  • all of our staff are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
  • please be kind. Our staff are doing their best to keep you and other clients safe, and we appreciate your help and understanding in minimising the risk and spread of COVID-19.

To make your appointment easier, please:

  • fill in your Information and Consent for Screening form and bring it with you to the clinic. If you don't have one, you can complete one when you arrive - please allow additional time for this.
  • aim to arrive 10 minutes early and allow time to find a car park.
  • wear a 2-piece outfit (such as a top and pants), as you will be asked to undress from the waist up.
  • do not wear deodorant or talcum powder - these can interfere with your X-ray images. Remember to bring deodorant with you to reapply after your appointment.
  • ask us for a gown if you would like one. At BreastScreen SA, we like to reduce our carbon footprint by limiting the amount of disposable waste we use. Rather than use a disposable gown, we encourage women to wrap their shirt or cardigan around their shoulders during their breast screen appointment. However, there is no compromise for your comfort, so if you would prefer a gown please ask us for one.

Please call us on 13 20 50 if you have any questions or need to reschedule your appointment.
