BreastScreen SA is pleased to announce that we have reached a new milestone of performing 2.5 Million breast screens!

Since commencing our service in 1989, we have proudly cared the women of South Australia, who are at the centre of everything we do.

Currently, BreastScreen SA performs around 100,000 mammograms per year to women over 40 years of age. Every single mammogram provides a woman with a chance at early detection - finding breast cancer before it can even be felt - which allows for the best chance of successful treatment and improved health outcomes. While we celebrate this milestone, we know that the women of South Australia are more than a statistic, and we continue to strive towards our goal of delivering a high-quality, safe and effective population-based breast cancer screening program.

These 2.5 million breast screens also represent a huge collective effort from our staff - from the call centre and receptionists to radiographers and radiologists - there are so many people who play a unique role in our service, and we commend our staff on their dedication to the women of South Australia.
