BreastScreen SA's spring campaign encourages women to tend to their health

After Adelaide's wettest start to winter in 35 years, South Australians are ready to embrace the longer days, warmer temperatures and the sense of optimism that spring brings.

The 'Spring into action' campaign uses playful puns and colourful blooms to inspire women to tend to their health this season. Designed to catch attention, the campaign includes a poster series, postcard and social media posts encouraging women to ‘just bloomin' book it’ and ‘screen for your pea-ce of mind’.

BreastScreen SA provides free breast screens (breast x-rays) every 2 years to women over 40, with the aim of diagnosing breast cancer at an early stage.

BreastScreen SA will be promoting the campaign at the Royal Adelaide Show in September and at Rundle Mall this October. The service's 9 fixed clinics and assessment clinic will be decorated as part of the promotion.

"This spring we’re using this new campaign to encourage women who are due for screening to make sure they book in for a free appointment," said Lauren Civetta, BreastScreen SA Program Director.

"We know it can be hard for busy women to make time for themselves, but a breast screen can take as little as 15 minutes, and it could save your life. The earlier a cancer is discovered, the greater the chance it can be treated successfully."

Book online now or call BreastScreen SA on 13 20 50.
